Macan Turbo EV

The wait is over. Porsche has finally pulled the wraps off the all-electric Macan EV Turbo, and after spending some time behind the wheel, it’s clear: this isn’t just a Macan with a battery. It’s the future of Porsche’s compact SUV — and it’s everything we hoped for.

First Impressions

Let’s get straight to it: the Macan EV Turbo looks stunning. It’s lower, sleeker, and more aerodynamic than the outgoing ICE Macan. The front fascia borrows cues from the Taycan with a smooth, purposeful design and signature LED matrix headlights. From the side, it maintains that muscular stance but now sits on a new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) chassis co-developed with Audi — and it makes all the difference.

Performance: A True Porsche

Under the hood — or rather, under the floor — the Macan Turbo EV delivers up to 630 horsepower and a staggering 833 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Macan ever. Zero to 62 mph? Try 3.3 seconds. That’s supercar territory in a family-sized SUV.

Handling is as sharp as you’d expect from Stuttgart. With Porsche’s new rear-biased all-wheel drive system, adaptive air suspension, and rear-axle steering, the Macan EV feels agile, balanced, and, dare we say, even fun to toss around corners. It’s not just a fast EV — it’s a driver’s EV.

Range & Charging

Porsche claims a WLTP range of up to 381 miles (613 km) for the Macan Turbo — impressive considering its performance stats. Real-world numbers may vary, but expect something close to 300 miles in mixed driving conditions. The battery is 100 kWh in size with 95 kWh usable.

It supports 800V fast charging, which means you can juice it from 10% to 80% in around 21 minutes with a high-speed DC charger. For most users, charging stops will be short and infrequent — just as they should be.

Our first drive shows as 35 kWh / 100 miles. equating to .35 kWh / mile. Pretty good.

Interior: High-Tech Without Losing Touch

Inside, Porsche has blended modern EV tech with classic design cues. A curved 12.6” digital instrument cluster, a 10.9” central infotainment screen, and — in a first — an optional passenger-side display give the cabin a high-tech edge. Voice controls via the new Porsche Digital Assistant (PDA) are responsive and smart.

But fear not, purists: Porsche hasn’t forgotten tactile satisfaction. The steering wheel feels right, the drive mode dial is where it should be, and materials throughout the cabin are top-notch.

Practicality

Despite its coupe-like profile, the Macan EV offers front and rear trunk space — 540L in the rear and an additional 84L in the front. Rear passenger space is generous, and build quality is impeccable, as you’d expect at this price point.

Pricing & Verdict

The Porsche Macan EV Turbo starts around £95,000, with the base Macan 4 coming in closer to £70,000. It’s not cheap — but this is Porsche, and the value lies in how much car you’re really getting.

Verdict:

The Macan EV Turbo isn’t just an electric SUV. It’s a Porsche first — with all the dynamics, quality, and soul you expect — and an EV second. If this is the direction of Porsche’s electric future, count us in.
