The First In-House Acura EV To Be Built in the USA

Acura announced its plans to build the all-new 2026 RSX EV in-house. This moves the out of the General Motors arrangement that produced the ZDX SUV that debuted in 2024.

Acura Performance EV Concept

The all-new RSX is based on the Honda O Series that has two models also coming out in 2026. It will be the first electric vehicle Acura has built on its own. The RSX badge has been used previously by Acura for a Honda Integra-based compact, but this time it will be on an all-electric SUV.

Taking inspiration from the Acura Performance EV Concept, first shown at Pebble Beach in August 2024, the new RSX has a sloping, coupe-like roofline, flush door handles, a rear light bar running edge-to-edge that sits just below a diminutive spoiler and sculpted vents on the doors behind the front wheels.

The 2026 Acura RSX will be the first application of the new Honda designed Asimo Operating System that will manage the vehicle infotainment and for the latest advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) for the next generation of semi-autonomous driving.

Production will begin later in 2025 at the new Honda EV Hub in Marysville, Ohio, where they will build the RSX and also the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU), which houses the EV battery and serves as part of the vehicle platform. Nearby, in Jeffersonville, Ohio, the L-H Battery Company is building a massive joint-venture EV battery facility.
