The Novitec Ferrari 812 is a modified, fire-breathing supercar, spitting out 866hp from its 6.5-liter V12. Intrigued? Read on to learn more.

Fresh out the box, the Ferrari 812 Competizione is the cream of Ferrari’s front-engined crop. The Competizione shares its DNA with the old 812 Superfast – a car which certainly earned its name – but somehow manages to up the ante even more. Under the hood, you’ll find Ferrari’s 6.5-liter V12 which in Competizione form churns out 819hp (30 more ponies than what the Superfast produces). That power travels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels only, resulting in a thrilling experience behind the wheel.

For some people, that’s not enough though. Why settle for 819hp and the sophisticated running gear to cope when you can have that… but more of it? As far as we can tell, that’s the thinking behind the existence of the Novitec Ferrari 812. So, let’s take a closer look at what the German Italian-marque specialist has thrown into the mix.

Powertrain Upgrades

We’ll start with the engine and work our way down from there. Novitec’s engineers have extracted an extra 47hp from the car’s V12 heart, boosting its total power output up to a whopping 866hp. Spectacularly, Novitec claims to have achieved this solely through an exhaust re-design – which features a new high-flow cat, rather than tinkering with the engine itself. Customers can choose to have their performance exhaust system constructed from either stainless steel, or a lighter material called INCONEL. On top of that, butterfly valves to control the exhaust system’s volume are optional too, as is some uber-luxurious 999 gold plating. Novitec acknowledges gold’s excellent heat dissipation qualities as a reason why you might choose to have your exhaust plated in this rare metal, but let’s be honest, it’s a flex more than anything else.

Styling Upgrades

The 812 Competizione features pretty aggressive styling in its natural guise, so Novitec hasn’t gone mad in this department. As with the powertrain mods, it’s more a case of enhancing the core elements that Ferrari already designed. The main addition is the forged alloy wheels constructed in cooperation with Vossen. There are three wheel designs to choose from, but the ones pictured are Novitec NF 10 ZVs. Those of you with a sharp eye might have noticed that the wheel specs are staggered too, with the front rims being smaller in diameter than the ones at the rear. For instance, this demo car is running a 10Jx21 wheel at the front with 275/30 ZR 21 tires. Meanwhile, the rear axle runs on 12.5Jx22 wheels with 335/25 ZR 22 tires. As well as black, Vossen can construct the rims in a choice of 70 different colors and multiple different finishes.

New sport suspension drops the car’s ride height by 25mm, but Novitec’s optional push-button Front Lift System can raise the car up by 40mm to help with things like speed bumps or ramps into parking areas/driveways. The lower stance not only adds to the car’s presence, but also helps it dynamically, creating a lower center of gravity. As such, if you forget to revert the lift system back to normal, it’ll automatically drop the car back down once you hit 80km/h (50mph).

As for the interior, well that really is up to you. Novitec will work with leather, carbon, and alcantara, but the color palette is entirely your choice.
